6. Getting started
Connect the IONSTAR to the compressed air supply.
The device is grounded is via the compressed-air hose.
The compressed air hose used with the IONSTAR must be electrically
conductive
Set the compressed-air pressure to 2.5 – 3.5 bar / 0.25 – 0.35 MPa / 36 –
50 Psi
The ionization device is ready for operation
7. Scope of application
Point the IONSTAR at the part to be cleaned and press the operating button.
Distance 10 – 40 cm
During operation at 2.5 – 3.5 bar / 0.25 – 0.35 MPa / 36 – 50 Psi the LED
lights up green
> 4 bar / > 0.4 MPa / >58 Psi the LED warning lights up red
When used as intended, the IONSTAR device also complies with the
technical regulation TRGS 727, version 8/2016,
"avoidance of ignition hazards due to static charges"
Helpful paint-spraying tips
Using a dust cloth (Tack-rag): When using a dust cloth (Tack-rag), always
apply this BEFORE ionizing with your IONSTAR, NEVER at the same time
as using the IONSTAR
Ionize thoroughly. Do not forget parts like door frames, flanges, and
beads etc.
Coating should be applied as a direct next step after ionizing
Surfaces treated with the IONSTAR remain anti-static for 30 – 60 minutes
For best results, ionize between the application of each layer
Do not touch the vehicle after ionizing with your IONSTAR. If you do
however, it is ESSENTIAL to re-ionize thoroughly
Allow yourself time to complete the described process, this way you can
ensure achieving optimum results
