The CVU (Code Visualizer Unit) is a device that displays the code of
GB
transmitters by means of a LED bar.
It can display the code of the 1, 2 or 4 channel FLO transmitters or of the
1 or 2 channel VERY VE transmitters, both produced by NICE.
This device includes a 433 MHz radio receiver that can learn the code of
the transmitters up to a distance of about 0.5 metres.
Besides displaying the codes, the CVU can clone the code of a transmitter
in another belonging to the VERY VE series through the cable provided.
OPERATING FEATURES:
The CVU has two push buttons: one for turning on, Power, and one for
cloning, Clone, plus a LED bar consisting of 10 pairs of LEDS that
reproduce the dip switch arrangement of the transmitter being used.
If the low LED is on in one of the 10 pairs it means the corresponding
transmitter dip switch is OFF, while if the high LED is on it means the
corresponding dip switch is ON.
The 4 upper LEDs indicate the channel (Channel) of the code received.
Press the Power button to turn the CVU on. The CVU turns off
automatically if it's not used for 20 seconds. After it has been switched on
and prior to receiving a code, the four channel LEDs scroll to indicate the
waiting state of a code.
After a waiting state of 10 seconds the CVU turns off.
While a radio code is being received, the channel LED starts flashing to
indicate code reception which, if deemed valid, is displayed on the LED bar.
CODE DISPLAY:
To display the code of a transmitter proceed as follows:
1) Press the Power button
2) Bring the transmitter up to the CVU (the distance should be less
than 0.5 metres) to visualise the code.
3) Press the button required on the transmitter until the code appears
on the LEDs.
The code will be displayed for 20 seconds so it can be cloned on a
transmitter.
After 20 seconds of not being used, the CVU enters the automatic turning
off phase entailing the count down of the LEDs at the frequency of 1 per
second until the 10 second waiting time is up.
To interrupt this phase and reset the code displayed simply press the
Power button.
CLONING: (Fig. 1)
Cloning is only possible on Very VE transmitters. There is no sense in
cloning on FLO transmitters because the code is set with the dip switches.
To clone the code it is necessary to have a Flo or Very VE transmitter, that
we shall call "original" (with the code to be cloned) and one or more
transmitters to be cloned, Very VE type that we shall call "clone".
There are two cloning types: one is STANDARD, where an integral copy is
made of the original transmitter, and the other is PERSONALISED that lets you
clone the code and assign it to a specific button. PERSONALISED cloning can
be used if you wish to clone, for instance, the code of button No. 3 of a FLO4
on button No. 1 of the VERY VE, leaving it associated with channel No. 3.

STANDARD CLONING:
For this type of cloning proceed as follows:
a) Plug the cable provided into the connection on the side of the CVU.
b) Press the Power button.
c) Transmit with any button on the "original" transmitter to visualise the
code on the LED bar.
d) Plug the cable into the connection on the Very VE "clone" transmitter.
e) Check that the transmitter LED turns on slightly.
f ) Press the Clone button.
g) Wait for the code to reappear on the LED.
h) Disconnect the cable.
i ) To clone other "clone" transmitters repeat from step d).
PERSONALISED CLONING:
For this type of cloning proceed as follows:
a) Plug the cable provided into the connection on the side of the CVU.
b) Press the Power button.
c) Transmit pressing the button wanted on the "original" transmitter to
be cloned to visualise the code and channel on the LED bar.
d) Press the Power button and hold it down, now press the Clone
button. As you press the Clone button the channel LED (which is
on) will start flashing.
e) Still holding the Power button down, press the Clone button to
move the flashing LED to the channel where you wish to clone the
code. Now release the Power button.
f ) Plug the cable into the connection on the Very VE "clone" transmitter.
g) Press the Clone button.
h) Wait for the code to reappear on the LED.
i ) Disconnect the cable.
j ) To clone other "clone" transmitters repeat from step f).
TROUBLESHOOTING:
If, during reception or cloning, the CVU turns itself off it means the battery
is running low.
If, during reception, one of the channel LEDS fails to flash it means the
transmitter's radio part is not working.
If, during reception, the channel LED is flashing but no code is displayed it means:
a) The transmitter is too far away from the CVU
b) The transmitter is not one of the Flo or Very VE series.
c) The transmitter is not working.
If, while cloning and after pressing the Clone button, all the LEDs turn on
and start flashing it means:
a) The cloning cable has not been plugged in correctly.
b) The cloning cable is not making contact.
c) The "clone" transmitter's battery is flat.
d) The "clone" transmitter is not one of the Very VE series.
