they are supervised or have received instructions on the safe use of the appliance and
understand the risks involved. Children may not play with the appliance. Do not allow children
to clean the appliance or perform user maintenance without supervision.
• Do not use any electrical appliances in potentially explosive environments, e.g. in the presence
of flammable liquids, gases or dust. Electrical appliances produce sparks that can ignite dust or
exhaust fumes.
• The plugs of electrical appliances must be compatible with the socket. Never change the plug.
Do not use any adapter plugs with earthed electrical appliances. Original plugs and matching
sockets reduce the risk of electric shock.
• If the operation of the electrical appliance in a damp environment is unavoidable, use an RCD
residual current device for personal protection.
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS – BATTERIES AND RECHARGEABLE BATTERY PACK
APPLIANCES
• Only use the charging unit supplied and the battery/rechargeable battery pack intended for
this purpose! Use of a different charging unit, rechargeable battery pack or battery may result
in an explosion, with the risk of damage to the appliance and personal injury.
• Do not use damaged or modified rechargeable battery packs/batteries or appliances. Defective
or modified batteries can be unpredictable and may cause fire, explosion and injury.
• Do not expose a battery/rechargeable battery pack or appliance to fire or excessive
temperatures. Fire and high temperatures exceeding 130°C (266°F) can result in an explosion.
• Never make modifications to the appliance! Do not attempt to modify or repair the appliance
or the rechargeable battery pack/battery.
• Do not store the appliance in a car or outdoors. The battery/rechargeable battery pack must
only be charged, stored or used in a dry indoor environment. The charging unit is for indoor
use only.
• Do not attempt to disassemble, open or service the rechargeable battery pack. Only replace
the rechargeable battery pack with one that is specified for this product.
• The rechargeable battery pack must not be crushed, punctured, modified or exposed to water,
and must not be disposed of outside or with household waste!
• If the battery leaks, avoid contact with the damaged battery. Should skin or clothing come into
contact with battery acid, wash immediately with plenty of soap and water. Should the eyes
come into contact with battery acid, rinse them with water for at least 15 minutes and seek
medical attention immediately.
HANDLING BATTERIES AND RECHARGEABLE BATTERY PACKS

If the appliance does not work upon charging the battery/rechargeable battery pack, please
contact Customer Support. If the battery/rechargeable battery pack has become warm after full
discharge, let it cool down for several minutes at room temperature before charging the
battery/rechargeable battery pack.
Tip
To get the maximum life out of a lithium-ion rechargeable battery pack, it is recommended not to
charge it after each use. Rechargeable battery packs last longer when they are not continually
empty or completely full.
