Rotary handle
(Fig. 5)
For ergonomic use the handle of the shears can be
rotated 90° to the left or right.
After activating the locking mechanism (8) the handle
can be adjusted 90°. Ensure that the locking mechanism
is re-engaged before placing the shears in service again.
Converting the device/changing the shear
system
When performing the following tasks to
change the shear system, do not, under any
circumstances, switch on the device! Danger
of injury!
To protect against injuries, slide the provided blade
guard over the blade and wear protective gloves.
Press the closure tab and slide the gearbox cover to the
rear in the direction of the arrow. Take off the gearbox
cover. The cutting blade can now be taken out. (Fig. 6)
Remove any fouling that may have gotten into the gear-
box compartment.
Keep the blade clean, remove sap and fouling. The
blade should be taken off at least once during the sea-
son. When the blade is taken off remove plant remains
and foreign objects.
Carefully lubricate the pinion A and the back of the blade
with thin grease (Fig. 7 and 8). Do not lubricate the motor
and other parts.
Use the provided tool to adjust the gearbox position.
The (red) marks on the housing and the gear wheel line
up. (Fig. 7)
The two (red) marks on the blade must be in line. (Fig. 8)
Do not hold the blade on the cutting edges
when changing! If the on/off switch is activated
unintentionally, severe injuries can occur.
Place the blade in the gearbox housing. Ensure that the
blade is in the position shown. (Fig. 9)
Note: Ensure that the blade rests on the two plastic hold-
ers (3) and ensure that the blade is properly seated on
the four fixation elements (4). (Fig. 10)
Insert the gearbox cover into the guides (1) and slide it
forward until the closure tab engages (2) (Fig. 10).
The device is now ready for operation again.
Hints for your work with the tool
The shrub trimmer cuts ornamental shrubs and light
undergrowth or bushes. The device is also well-suited for
ornamental cuts as, for example, for the care of graves.
The grass shears allow for clean cuts of lawn edges or
hardly accessible lawn areas.
As the device is operated with one hand
please be careful not to move the other hand
near the running cutting tools.

Maintenance
Clean the blade from any crushed plants and dirt. The
blades should be detached at least once a season for
the removal of debris. Lubricate the A pinion and the B
back of the blade with a light oil. Do not lubricate the mo-
tor and other parts. Should the blade become dull after a
long period of use, a spare part can be ordered.
Warning! The leading edges of the blades must be oiled
to ensure proper lubrication. If the leading edges are not
oiled, blade durability may be adversely affected.
If the cutting tools have become dull after long use
please replace them with original spare parts.
Clean the device using only a brush or cloth. Do never
wash down the device with water and do never dip the
device into water.
Apply protective spray to the blades after each use.
Replace blunt blades.
Always put on the blade guard after use.
Examine the tool for obvious defects and have it repaired
in an authorised service shop if required.
Storage
Always store the tool in a dry, clean place outside the
reach of children. Make sure that the place of storage
is frost-free.
Waste disposal and environmental protection
Worn out electrical appliances and batteries do not be-
long with your household waste.
Electrical appliances must be collected, recycled or dis-
posed of in an environmentally friendly manner.
Defective or spent batteries must be recycled properly
in accordance with the latest regulations concerning bat-
tery and accumulator disposal.
Before removing the installed accumulator with printed
board from your appliance, actuate the ON/OFF switch
and wait until the accumulator has fully discharged.
Then use a screwdriver to undo all screws on the appli-
ance and open the casing.
Remove the printed board with lithium ion cell and
disconnect the connections on the accumulator/printed
board.
Then hand in the printed board with lithium ion cell at an
accumulator/battery recycling point for proper disposal.
In line with the European Electrical and Electronic Equip-
ment Directive, after removing the printed board with
accumulator, you must deliver the appliance for environ-
mentally friendly recycling.
We would, however, also be happy to handle the proper
disposal of the appliance with accumulator on your
behalf. To take advantage of this offer, send the appli-
ance to the service address provided in the operating
instructions.
