Short-Form User Manual Albrecht AE 65 H
80 Channel Scanning Receiver
Power Supply: Insert 4 pcs alkaline or rechargeable NiCd or NiMH batteries (Mignon = AA size) or connect AC / DC
power adaptor 9-12 V (min 200-300 mA). Select correct position of battery switch NiCd / Reg Alkali depending on
batteries used.
12 V DC socket wiring: + inner contact, - outside contact. Charging time: appr. 14-16 hours, only allowed when
rechargeable batteries inserted! Warning: Never try to charge conventional alkaline batteries, they may explode!
On / Off / Volume: Rotary knob on right side
Squelch: Rotary knob on left side. Adjust carefully so that noise just disappears.
Display Illumination : toggle between on and off with LIGHT key
Key Lock: Toggle by pressing

Search for frequencies within search bands (Frequency Scan, Search Mode, Band limits must be programmed
before):
Press SRCH. Actual search band number is flashing. Pressing frequency band number (1 to 5) may delete or add
frequency search band to the search list CHAIN 1 2 3 4 5. Never delete all bands from list! (will cause Error in display)
Programm different frequency bands:
Press SLCT several times until the intended band number appears (1-5). Start and stop frequences will be displayed in
alternative sequence. Enter new start frequency, save by E. Enter new stop frequency, save by E again. New
frequencies appear in display.
Restore factory default search bands: Select SLCT and enter 0 instead of one of the frequencies, followed by E.
Store interesting frequencies obtained in SEARCH mode:
After search stopped on frequency in use, press HOLD. Store with E. The frequency is stored in the memory location,
whose number was flashing before. It is recommended to select a free memory location number with MANUAL before
starting search for the next frequency.
Store known operating frequency: Press MANUAL (may be pressed repeated to reach desired memory location
number), enter Frequency (e.g. 145.775 ), store with E (Enter).
Erase stored frequency from memory location:
Select memory location by repeated pressing of MANUAL, enter 0 instead of a frequency, then save with Enter
Manual channel selection:
Press MANUAL, desired memory location number (1-80), MANUAL. Or press MANUAL several times until desired
location is reached.
Scanning memorized channels (SCAN):
Scans all previously memorized channels. Starts automatically after scanner has been switched on. Or press SCAN.
Scanning stops when signal detected on one of the memorized channels.
Restart by pressing SCAN or automatically with a delay of 2-3 seconds after signal disappeard again.
Skipping unwanted channels or frequencies during SCAN or SEARCH: press SKIP (L/O) to Lock Out (skip)
frequency after scanning stopped. Frequency / channel is marked with L/0 (on display) and will be skipped during next
scan cycles.
Adding again to search /scanning: Select frequency again and press SKIP ( L/O) again.
Delete all unlock markings together: Stop search mode by HOLD. Press SKIP (L/O) longer than 2 seconds. Double
beep indicates that all L/O markings have been deleted.
Priority (Dual Watch between 2 channels): Priority Channel P is factory-preset to CH 1. Any other memory channel can
also be used as P channel: Press PRI longer than 2 seconds until You hear 2 beep tones. Activating priority channel
watch: select second channel, press PRI. Both channels are observed periodically now. Stop priority watch: Press PRI
again.
WX (weather channels): Scanning special wheather information channels used only in the USA between 162.400 and
162.550 MHz.
