BUTTERFLY HOUSE
Instruction manual
Art.-No. 90561
1. Product Description
To attract butterflies into the surrounding area of the butterfly house, a garden with a
wide variety of local flowers, trees and bushes is needed. In such a garden, butterflies
can find pollen and nectar, their main food. You should put some branches of stinging
nettles and lavender into the house as the smell attracts butterflies giving them a dry
shelter to nest and hibernate.
2. Putting into Operation
In spring or summer, hang up the butterfly house in a wind and rain sheltered, but sunny
place in your garden or on your patio. Little by little, butterflies will settle down and they
will find food in the surrounding garden. The butterflies will then hibernate in the Butter-
fly House. Especially for children, it is a wonderful chance to watch the life of the insects.
Important warning when drilling in walls:
Before drilling, make sure that there are no gas, water or power lines located at the
drilling spot. Installation may only be done by competent persons. Please pay atten-
tion to the condition and material of the wall as the included mounting material is not
suitable for all wall types. Please ask an expert for advice concerning suitable screws
and dowels. For improper mounting and resulting damages the manufacturer assumes
no liability.
Please note:
1. Hang up the butterfly house in a wind and rain sheltered, but sunny location.
2. The front of the house should ideally point in southern direction.
3. Please leave the house in the same place during winter, as butterflies and caterpillars
nest and hibernate in it.
4. Please do NOT paint or varnish the house, otherwise butterflies will not nest in there.
