Caution! Electrolytic fluid leaks and vapors will cause damage not covered by the guarantee on the USAG 1613 BS "Battery-Station".
Installing the battery
1 - Remove the battery compartment cover (figure 36).
2 - Install the battery and fasten the lugs onto the battery (Positive + on Positive + / Negative – on Negative -).
3 - Check the lugs on the battery and wing nuts on the lugs are tight.
4 - Insert the battery into the compartment and tighten the strap around the battery (Figure 37).
5 - Refit the rear battery compartment cover.
Then charge and check the internal battery of the USAG 1613 BS "Battery Station".
Charging a battery
Charging the internal battery of the VCS.12-15 "Battery Station":
Always charge the internal battery up to maximum level to extend its lifetime and guarantee optimum performance.
1 - Check that the connection cables to the vehicle are stored properly (Figure 31 and 32) and the power switch set to "CHARGER ON"
(Figure 25).
2 - Connect the USAG 1613 BS "Battery Station" to mains (220-230V - 50-60HZ) (Figure 33).
3 - Select the internal charging function (Figure 13). The indicator is lit GREEN.
If the indicator is not lit GREEN but RED, this means that: either the internal battery is damaged, or the battery is connected reversed, or the battery is
absent.
4 - Charging starts. The charge indicator indicates charging progress (Figure 12).
5 - The charger stops once charging is complete. The 1613 BS "Battery Station" can remain connected permanently in internal
charging mode without risk for the internal battery.
Once charging is complete, the three right-hand LEDs remain lit simultaneously (figure 12).
Charging a battery connected to a vehicle or not
Your 1613 BS can be used to recharge all 12 Volt "Lead-acid" batteries currently used in the automotive industry. The charger is compatible with the
following batteries : Wet, maintenance-free and/or sealed, GEL, AGM and VLRA.
The safety offered by the USAG 1613 BS "Battery Station" allows risk-free charging of vehicle batteries without discon-
necting them from the vehicles.
Charging procedure:
1 - Check that the connection cables to the vehicle are stored properly (Figure 31 and 32) and the power switch is set to
"CHARGER ON" (Figure 25).
2 - Connect the USAG 1613 BS "Battery Station" to mains (220-230V - 50-60HZ) (Figure 33).
