If the battery is not being used, it should be charged to about 40 - 60% and stored at
•
room temperature. During extended storage, the battery must be recharged once a
year to prevent being fully discharged.
Charge the battery at room temperature. Otherwise the battery can be seriously
•
damaged or its service life reduced. Do not recharge batteries near acids or easily
ignited materials.
•
The battery and charge heat up during the charging process. This is normal and not
considered a defect.
If the battery is not recharged within the specified period, you must not continue the
•
charging process. Otherwise the battery may heat up, explode or spontaneously
combust.
If an unusual odour, overheating, changes to colour or shape or other abnormal
•
phenomena appear during charging/discharging, immediately cease using the battery.
If battery fluid gets into your eye due to leakage, do not rub it, but flush it with a large
•
volume of water and immediately seek medical aid. If you do not seek treatment, the
battery fluid can damage your eye.
•
The battery must be charged before it is first used. The battery will only achieve its full
capacity after several charging cycles.
Only charge batteries using chargers specified for this purpose by the manufacturer.
•
Malfunctions or fire may occur if you use a different charger.
Vapour may escape if the battery is used incorrectly or is damaged. Ensure you get
•
enough fresh air and seek medical aid in the case of difficulties. The vapours may
irritate the airways.
You should insulate the contacts on worn-out batteries, e.g. by using sticky tape, and
•
hand them into the local recycling centre or battery recycling facility. Never burn
rechargeable batteries or throw them into the normal waste bin.
Charging the battery
Attention! Check to make sure that the charger plug fits the socket type.
Only connect the charger to a socket with a voltage and frequency of the
correct values given on the charger label.
•
Remove the battery from the tool by pressing the release button and pulling it upwards.
•
Connect the power cable to the mains and insert the battery in the charger station. The
LED indicator will flash green.
•
After charging is completed, the LED indicator will light up green. Charging a
completely empty battery may take approx. 60 minutes. The charging period is shorter
if a partially discharged battery is recharged.
•
Remove the recharged battery from the charging station and disconnect the power
cable from the mains.
The lithium-ion battery is supplied partially charged. You should charge it before you use it
for the first time. Li-ion batteries do not suffer from the memory effect and can be charged at
any time, without this reducing their service life. Interrupting the charging process will not
damage the battery. The battery is fitted with a built-in temperature sensor, which only
permits charging at a battery temperature rating from 10-45°C to prevent damaging the
elements. The battery will only reach full capacity after several charging cycles.
