2. Amplifier connection
The connector cable
is used to connect the tuner to the
"TUNER" input jack at the amplifier.
The two plugs at either end of the cable are separate, for the right
and left channels; the red plug is used for the right channel (R).
3. Power supply
The component is supplied with 20 V DC by the
amplifier.
The power supply cable (5 is to be connected at the "TUNER
POWER" jack at the amplifier.
Operation
1. Switching on and off (5)
2. Selection of broadcast band
a) For FM stations, depress the "FM" button
b) For medium-wave AM stations, depress the "MW" button ©
b) For long-wave stations, depress the "LW" button D
3. Tuning in the station
€ Depress the "MAN" button (2) for manual tuning.
@ Use the rotary TUNING knob (4) to select the station.
@ To assist in tuning, the pointer on the scale will change to green
once the station has been tuned at center channel and the signal
is of sufficient strength.
Mute/Mono (7)
© Normal setting = not depressed: Only stations with a sufficiently
strong signal will be picked up. Weak stations and noise between
stations will be suppressed, eliminating an annoyance otherwise
inherent in FM reception.
@ Button depressed: In this mode it is possible to tune in distant,
weak stations as well. The tuner is also switched over to monaural
FM reception at the same time.
Stereo reception
@ The stereo indicator
will show when an FM stereo broadcast
is being received (button (7) not depressed)
€ Excessive noise during stereo reception can be reduced by
switching over to the monaural mode; depress button
( 7 ) .
Programming the station selector buttons
Up to 7 different stations can be assigned to the station selector
buttons
, in the following manner:
Select the broadcast band, FM, MW or LW!
. Depress the MAN button
( 2 ) .
. Use the rotary TUNING knob (4) to ans station desired
BON
Depress the first station selector button
Use the tuning key provided to turn the control © beneath the
station selector buttom until the scale pointer lights in yellow.
This confirms that the tuner is receiving the station which was
previously tuned in manually.
This station is now permanently assigned to the first station button
and can be tuned in at any time simply by depressing that button.
The other station buttons — "2" to "7" - are programmed
in exactly
the same manner, beginning with step 1.
These stations can now be fine tuned by depressing the station
lector button © and rotating the corresponding tuning control
© slightly, until the scale pointer lights in green to indicate cen-
ter-channel tuning.
Note: By working in the reverse order you can determine which station is
assigned to a particular station selector button: Depress the station
selector button and use the TUNING knob to scan along the scale
until the scale pointer lights in yellow.
