Getting Started
Thank you for choosing to purchase this MICROSCAN™. Please read
through these instructions carefully to get you started in using your
diagnostic tool.
To get the Most out of your new MICROSCAN™
1. Install the users information found online at:
http://diagnostics.snapon.com/usermanuals, and refer to the
Users manual for more in-depth usage details.
2. Visit
http://diagnostics.snapon.com/ssc
http://diagnostics.snapon.com/uk
and install ShopStream™ Connect; the PC-based software that
expands the capabilities of your tool, and allows you to view
handheld data files on your PC.
To begin using MICROSCAN™
1. Install the 9-volt battery (included in your MICROSCAN kit).
2. Press the power button to turn on the scan tool.
3. Familiarise yourself with the navigation and controls.
a. There are three basic screens:
- Trouble code screens—the MICROSCAN automatically
checks for codes every time you connect to the vehicle
DLC on power up.
- Menu screens—present a list of tests to select from.
- Data screens—displays live datastream parameters from
the test vehicle.
b. Use the arrow buttons to highlight on-screen items, and the Y
button to select them.
c. Use the N button to open the Exit Menu, which offers a
selection of tool functions.
Connecting MICROSCAN™ to a vehicle
1. Connect the 16-pin end of the data cable to the vehicle.
2. Turn the vehicle ignition on.
3. On connection with the vehicle, MICROSCAN ™ is automatically
powered through the vehicle power supply.
