Finally, the 8-pin PCI-e connector is a connector used to directly power graphics
cards that require more electrical power to operate. It provides 12V directly to the
graphics card for more powerful models for which power via the PCI-e socket on the
motherboard is not sufficient.
Graphics cards are available with either 6-pin or 8-pin PCI-e power connectors, so
the power supply connector consists of 2 detachable 6-pin and 2-pin blocks.
Installation:
If you want to use the DeepGaming power supply to replace an existing unit on a PC,
follow the steps below:
1. Disconnect the power from the PC by unplugging the of feeding.
2. Remove the side cover of the PC chassis to access the inside of it.
3. Disconnect all the power cables that connect the installed power supply to the
different internal components of the PC (motherboard, storage units, graphics
card...)
4. Remove the 4 screws that fix the power supply to the PC chassis. These
screws are located at the back of the PC.
5. Remove the old power supply from the PC.
6. Place the new CoolBox DeepEnergy power supply unit in the space of the
chassis where the power supply unit to be replaced was previously located.
Secure it with 4 screws.
Depending on the chassis, the power supply unit can be placed in the upper area
or lower of it, and with the fan facing inwards from the chassis or to the outside
(some chassis have a grille in that area, so that the source can be placed in either
of the two directions.
7. Connect the 24-pin ATX main power cable (20+4).
8. Connect the internal power cables to the components installed in the PC
that need to be connected to it (storage units, some graphic cards...) using the
appropriate connector in each case (in the previous section you will find the
description and utility of each of the internal connectors that you will find in the
power supply).
9. If the connectors to be used are on the modular cables which are delivered se-
parately, must be connected to the power supply using the connectors provided
on the power supply and identified accordingly.
