PREPARING FOR FIRST TIME USE

Remove all packaging.
2.
Clean the cooking surfaces with a soft damp cloth and then allow to dry.
3.
Slightly grease the cooking surfaces with a little cooking oil.
4.
Warm uncovered until the appliance reaches maximum heat.
5.
Turn off and cool completely.
6.
Clean off excess oil with warm water without rubbing. Take care to prevent water
from running into the appliance.
7.
Dry the surface with a dry cloth. Now the appliance is ready to be used.
NEVER SUBMERGE UNIT IN WATER.
1. Insert the plug into the appropriate power outlet until the Power Light
indicator turns on.
2. Allow the unit to pre-heat for about 5 minutes before beginning use.
3. When your Oster Tosty Arepa is heated for the first time it may emit slight smoke
or odor, this is normal with heating appliances. This does not affect the safety of
your appliance.
4. For best results, lightly spray the cooking plates with a cooking oil spray before
using. This will assist in the removal of the arepas after cooking.
5. Have the dough ready and divide it into equal portions. Using the palm of
your hands, roll appropriately sized portions of dough and place in each
non-stick cavity. Close the lid and latch the appliance closed.
NOTE: Do not use disposable plastic piping bags as these may melt if they come
into contact with hot plates. Surfaces are HOT.
6. As you become acquianted with your Oster Tosty Arepa, you will become familiar
with the ideal quantity of dough needed to prepare proper arepas and the ideal
cooking time required.
7. In approximately 7 minutes, you will be able to enjoy delicious arepas. Remove
the arepas with wood or plastic spatula.
8. The estimated cooking time to prepare arepas is approximately 7 minutes. If
you prefer darker, golden brown arepas, it is recommended that you extend the
cooking time for a few minutes.
9. After you have completed using the appliance, unplug the unit from the electrical
outlet.
10. Surfaces are HOT.
