6. To remove the filter
for cleaning, remove
mounting ring and filter
from lid cage (fig.11).
7. To clean reusable dry filter, shake off excess
dirt and dust or (depending on condition of
filter) rinse with water. Allow the filter to dry
completely and re-install. DO NOT WASH MA-
CHINE OR DRY.
NOTE: Ensure that the mounting ring is com-
pletely secrue and in position by pressing down
firmly around the ring in several places. Be sure
the reusable dry cloth filter completely covers
the foam filter. Check to ensure that all edges
of the reusable dry filter are secure under the
mounting ring.
WARNING: Keep filters clean. Efficiency of
the vacuum is largely dependent on the filter.
A clogged filter can cause overheating and
possibly damage the cleaner. Check the filter
periodically and replace as required.
INSTALLING FOAM FILTER & DISPOSABLE FIL-
TER BAG
(Not standard with all models)
1. Install foam filter and disposable filter bag
to pick up dust and dry material only. If the
foam filter has been used to pick up liquids,
the foam filter must be cleaned and dried be-
fore installing for dry pick-up.
2. With the power head in an upside down
position, slide foam filter down over lid cage,
pulling until foam filter completely covers lid
cage.
3. To install disposable
filter bag, press the
release button in the
hose and pull the hose
out of the vacuum
port (fig.12).
4. Slide collar of filter bag into retainer guides.

5. Re insert hose end into port of tank. The
hose should be snapped into place.
6. When secured in place, expand bag and
position around the inside of the tank. The
disposable filter bag should always be in posi-
tion when using the foam filter when using the
filter for dry pick-up unless using the reusable
dry filter.

INSTALLING THE DISPOSABLE FILTER BAG
(Not standard with all models)
1. Using for dry pick-up only.
2. Unscrew locking-ring and remove hose.
3. Slide collar of filter bag into retainer guides.
4. Re-insert hose end into port of tank. The
hose should be snapped into place.
5. When secured in place, expand bag and po-
sition around the inside of the tank.
INSTALLING THE CARTRIDGE FILTER
(Not standard with all models)
NOTE: If foam filter is in position over lid cage,
it must be removed before installing cartridge
filter.
The cartridge filter can be used for wet or dry
pick up. Installation is the same for both. When
picking up large quantities of liquid please re-
fer to the "wet pick up operation" section in
this manual. Use the cartridge filter in position
over the lid cage for most general dry material
pick up.
