Turbine/Compressor Maintenance
General Instructions
The turbine unit should be cleaned and checked in a
routine manner. Care for your turbine as you would
for any of your professional tools. The following steps
should be taken to protect both yourself and the unit
before proceeding.
1. Turn off the unit and allow it to cool before attempting
any service to it.
2. Unplug the unit before attempting any service to it.
Filter Inspection/Removal
Note: Keeping all filters clean is extremely important.
Dirty or clogged filters will dramatically reduce the life of
the turbine.
Air Compressor Air Intake (3 Filters)
The air compressor has three intake filters. When
viewing the front side of the turbine unit, two of the
three filters will be to the left side and toward the rear of
the unit, one located above the other.
To remove the lower of the two filters, the filter access
panel must be removed. Remove the two screws and
washers that hold the filter access panel and pull out.
A new filter is easily set in place by pushing it in and
replacing the access panel. Duplicate this procedure
on the opposite (right) side of the turbine unit for the
opposing, similar, intake filter.
Replacing the upper filter assembly will require
removing the top cover which is fastened by eleven
screws and washers. With the cover removed you will
see that a red air hose is inserted into the filter housing.
The filter itself is held in place with a spring clip. Slide
the spring clip away and pull the filters out from the air
hose and away from the turbine unit. When replacing
this filter, be sure that the air hose is seated in the filter
housing and the spring clip is securely attached.
Turbine Atomizing Air and Pre-filter
The atomizing air filter and pre-filter are located on
the left side of the turbine unit. The pre-filter can be
removed by simply pulling it off of the atomizing filter.
The pre-filter may be cleaned by shaking it, blowing
it out with air or washed with a mild soap. If you are
unable to clean it by these methods replace it.
The atomizing air filter is a pleated paper filter. You can
inspect this filter by holding it up to a light. If you cannot
see light through it. The air filter must be replaced.
To remove the atomizing air filter, remove the two
screws and washers that hold the atomizing air filter
cover and the atomizing air filter onto the unit.
Turbine Motor Air Intake
The turbine motor air intake filter is located on the right
side of the unit and is not covered or fastened in place.
You can replace this filter simply by pulling it out, and
pushing in a replacement. See Parts Identification List to
order a Turbine/Compressor Filter Unit.
