1) INPUT
Connect your guitar to this socket using a quality instrument cable with
1/4" plugs.
2) VOLUME
This controls the amp's output level, breakup and saturation from low to
mid volume cleans to crunch, overdrive and full-on distortion and com-
pression.
The threshold of distortion varies depending on the tube complement (see
TUBE OPTIONS below). Once you're in the "comfort zone" you can easily go
from near-clean to rich, compressed distortion and everything in between
by varying your touch or riding the guitar's volume control.
3) BOOST
This pushbutton increases gain in the "down" position for more output,
distortion and compression.
4) TONE
This is basically a treble roll-off similar to the tone controls of most
electric guitars.
However, it does more than just set the amp's tone. From sparkling bright
(fully clockwise) to darker tones and muffled "blanket over the speaker"
sounds, counterclockwise rotation also reduces distortion and overall
output to some extent. This is fully intentional and provides additional
breakup control for tweaking your overdrive and distortion tones to per-
fection – especially useful when recording!
5) PILOT LED
This lights up when the amp is "on" (power switch in "POWER" position).
6) POWER SWITCH
This rocker switch toggles the EINS on ("POWER" position) and off.
