. Hard grain in wood or lengths of drill
bit cutting lips and / or angles not

. Workpiece piching drill bit or

. Worn spindle bearings
. Drill bit not properly installed in

. Dirty, grease or oil on the tapered
inside surface of chuck or on the
spindles tapered surface
AFTER-SALES SERVICE
REMEDY
. Adjust tension
. Lubricate spindle
. Check tightness of retaining nut on
pulley
. Tighten set screws in pulleys
. Change speed
. Retract drill bit frequently to clear
chips
. Resharpen drill bit
. Feed fast enough – allow drill bit to cut
. Lubricate drill bit with cutting or motor
oil
. Resharpen drill bit correctly
