Removing Unit From Carton; Loose Parts In Carton - Craftsman 247.889210 Manual Del Operador

IMPORTANT: T his unit is shippedwithoutgasolineor oil in theengine.
Be certain to serviceenginewith gasolineand oil as instructedin the
Operationsectionbeforestartingor runningyourmachine.
NOTE:Referenceto rightand left hand sideof the LawnMoweris
observedfrom the operatingposition.
OPENING CARTON
1. Cut eachcornerof the cartonverticallyfrom topto bottom.
2. Removeall looseparts.
3. Removeloosepackingmaterial.
REMOVING UNiT FROM CARTON
1. Lift unit from the rearto detach it from underlyingcarton material
and roll unit outof carton.
2. Checkcartonthoroughlyfor anyotherloose parts.

ASSEMBLY
Attaching The Handle
1. Removeany packingmaterialwhich may be betweenupperand
lowerhandles.
a. Pull up and backon upperhandleas shown in Figure1.
Makecertain thelowerhandleis seated securelyintothe
handlemountingbrackets.Do notcrimp cableswhile lifting
the handleup.
b. Tightenstar knobsto secureupper handleto lowerhandle.
Makesurethat each carriagebolt is seatedproperlyin the
handle.
2. Locatethe hairpinclip on the weldpin on eachsideof lower
handle.
a. Removehairpinclipfrom this hole.Usinga pair of pliers,
insert hairpinclip intothe hole on pin closest tothe bracket.
See Figure2. Repeaton otherside.
b. Inserta carriagebolt fromthe hardwarepack intothe upper
hole on the handlemountingbracket.Securewith one plastic
wingnut, also includedin the hardwarepack.Repeaton
othersidewith remainingitemsfrom hardwarepack.
NOTE:Makecertainthe drivecable is routedaroundthe outsideand
abovethe lowerhandleso it doesnot interferewith attachingthe grass
bag.The chutedoor hasbeen designedto movethe starterrope out of
the wayof the bag whenthe chutedoor is opened.
