Telemetre scale
Distance can be calculated using the red
telemetre scale around the outside of the dial,
through the use of speed and sound (333 m/
sec.) At a visible given moment, (for example a
flash of lightning), the chronograph should be
started, and at the acoustical moment (when
the thounder clap from the lightning is heard),
the chronograph should be stopped. The
measurement shown on the outside scale now
reveals the distance, in kilometres, you are
from the lightning source.

Maintenance and servicing of your Hanhart
chronograph
With your Hanhart chronograph, you have
acquired a first class precision timepiece.
To ensure that you have lasting enjoyment from
your chronograph, we recommend that every
five years you take your watch to an authorized
Hanhart retailer for a careful service. If
necessary, he will send it to our Hanhart
customer service centre.
If your Hanhart chronograph has a leather
strap, we advise you not to wear it in water.
However, if the leather strap does happen
to come into contact with sea water or
chlorinated water, you should rinse it
thoroughly under a running tap and leave it to
dry naturally (not using a heater!). By the way:
Your leather strap is made from top-quality
calfskin, and darkening is a normal reaction in
a natural product.
