3.5 Electrical connections

Connection to the electrical grid
The unit's electrical safety is only guaranteed
B
when correctly connected to an efficient earth-
ing system executed according to current
safety standards. Have the efficiency and suit-
ability of the earthing system checked by pro-
fessionally
qualified
manufacturer is not responsible for any dam-
age caused by failure to earth the system.
Also make sure that the electrical system is
adequate for the maximum power absorbed
by the unit, as specified on the boiler data-
plate.
The boiler is prewired and provided with a Y-cable and plug for connection to the elec-
tricity line. The connections to the grid must be made with a permanent connection and
equipped with a bipolar switch whose contacts have a minimum opening of at least 3
mm, interposing fuses of max. 3A between the boiler and the line. It is important to re-
spect the polarities (LINE: brown wire / NEUTRAL: blue wire / EARTH: yellow-green
wire) in making connections to the electrical line. During installation or when changing
the power cable, the earth wire must be left 2 cm longer than the others.
The user must never change the unit's power
B
cable. If the cable gets damaged, switch off
the unit and have it changed solely by profes-
sionally qualified personnel. If changing the
electric power cable, use solely "HAR H05
VV-F" 3x0.75 mm2 cable with a maximum
outside diameter of 8 mm.
Accessing the electrical terminal block
Undo the two screws "A" located on the top part of the control panel and remove the
cover "B".

3.6 Connection to the flue

The flue connection pipe diameter must not be less than that of the connection on the
anti-backflow device. Starting from the anti-backflow device it must have a vertical sec-
tion at least 50 cm long. Comply with the current standards regarding installation and siz-
es of the flues and connection pipe.

4. SERVICE AND MAINTENANCE

4.1 Adjustments
All adjustment and conversion operations must be carried out by Qualified Personnel.
The manufacturer declines any responsibility for damage and/or injury caused by un-
qualified and unauthorised persons tampering with the unit.
Adjusting the burner gas pressure
The PEGASUS 23 T - 32 T - 35 T - 45 T boilers are arranged to run on natural or liquefied
gas. Pressure setting and testing are done at the factory.
However, at first lighting, as there may be supply pressure variations, check and if nec-
essary adjust the pressure at the nozzles, respecting the values given in the technical
data table in table 5.3.
Pressure adjustment operations must be carried out with the boiler working, using the
pressure regulator on the single-stage gas valves.
Preliminary operations:
1.
Light the pilot and set the control thermostat to minimum by turning the knob anti-
clockwise.
2.
Connect a pressure gauge to the pressure point "OUT" on the valve (see detail 4 of
fig. 2).

3.
Unscrew the pressure regulator protection cap 2 of fig. 2.
Output adjustment
1.
Turn the control thermostat knob clockwise until the click; the gas valve will open,
allowing gas to escape.
2.
Operate the flow regulating screw 2 of fig. 2 (turn clockwise to increase the pressure
and anticlockwise to decrease it) and bring the pressure read on the gauge within
the values of table 5.3.
After these operations, turn the burner on and off 2 - 3 times with the control thermostat
and check that the pressure values are those just set; otherwise it will be necessary to
adjust again until the pressures are at the correct values.
The
Gas conversion
The unit can work with Natural gas (G20-G25) or liquefied gas (G30-G31) and is factory-
set for use with one of the two gases, as clearly shown on the data plate. Whenever a
gas different from that for which the unit is arranged has to be used, the special conver-
sion kit will be required, proceeding as follows:
1.
Disconnect the boiler power supply and close the gas cock.
2.
Replace the nozzles at the main burner (fig. 4) and pilot burner (A - fig. 5), fitting the
nozzles specified in the technical data table on cap. 5, depending on the type of gas
used.
fig. 4
3.
Switch the boiler power on and open the gas cock.
4.
Adjust the gas pressure at the burner, setting the values specified in the technical
data table for the type of gas used.
5.
Apply the sticker contained in the conversion kit, near the data plate as proof of the
conversion.
