DESCRIPTION

The RX 3000 matrix has been designed by RCF to respond to the requirements of modern technological systems for management and con-
trol in commercial, industrial, and civil structures such as airports, shopping centres, hotels, office complexes, railway stations, and so on. The
matrix has the following characteristics:
• Up to 64 modular audio inputs (8 IB 3210 / IB 3280 AUDIO INPUT boards).
• Up to 128 modular audio outputs (16 OB 3230 AUDIO OUTPUT boards).
• Possibility to create up to 8 audio matrixes, completely independent and with total accessibility.
• Possibility to create matrixes with maximum capacity of 32 inputs x 64 outputs (max. 2 matrixes 32 x 64).
• Up to 256 opto-insulated GPI inputs (16 IO 3250 digital INPUT/OUTPUT boards), for the control of programmable events.
• Up to 384 relay outputs (16 IO 3250 digital INPUT/OUTPUT boards) which can be used for various purposes.
• Up to 16 BM 3616 digital consoles, for microphone announcement transmission and control of numerous system functions.
• Up to 24 BM 3604 consoles or groups of consoles, for microphone announcement transmission and control of certain system functions.
• Up to 120 RB 3300 back-amplifier boards (A.C.U.s), for diagnostic control and monitoring of the power amplifiers and speaker lines of the
system.
• Modular structure for adapting to future system expansions.
• Voice-activated audio inputs (VOX devices), for the connection of sound sources without control elements.
• Management of 8 sources for background music, which is automatically excluded in the event of selective calls in a particular zone.
• Complete monitoring of the audio signals managed by the system (audio matrix inputs and outputs, outputs of the power amplifiers).
• Complete diagnosis of power amplifiers and speaker lines, with check on earth dispersion (with the RB 3300 and SB 3320 boards).
• Automatic control of the signal/noise ratio in the areas covered by the system, with digital detection and regulation systems (with the
LB 3340 board).
• Digital recorder for recording/playback of personalized messages or pre-announcement/alarm tones (CD quality).
• Pre-recorded pre-announcement/warning tones.
• Possibility to connect a printer for having a printed record of the system configuration and any alarm events.
• Possibility to transmit the tones and messages recorded on the hard disk of the CP 3100 control unit with one of the following methods:
– automatically at a preset time.
– automatically with repetition within a preset time period.
– by means of the microphone consoles.
– by means of the inputs of the IO 3250 digital INPUT/OUTPUT boards.
• System programming by means of various menus, used for assigning names or abbreviations to each input, output, microphone console,
recorded message, event, etc.
• Standard software included in the system, which carries out the following functions:
– configuration of the digital consoles.
– configuration of the audio inputs.
– configuration of the audio outputs.
– configuration of the groups of audio zones.
– configuration of the relays.
– configuration of the VOX devices.
– configuration of the timed events.
– configuration of the GPI inputs.
– configuration of the A.C.U.s used for controlling the power amplifiers of the system (primary, backup).
– configuration of the audio monitoring.
– alarm event control.
– recording/playback of messages, announcements, pre-announcement tones, alarm signals, etc.
– configuration of various system operating parameters (date, time, printing method, configuration password, etc.).
• Maximum reliability of the system thanks to the minimum interaction between the single hardware components.
• Self-diagnosis of any malfunction, with detailed indication of the cause.
• Exclusive DCI communication system (Data Communication Interface), which provides a high-speed interace between all the system com-
ponents.
• Optional ES 3000 software for system configuration by means of an external PC.
The system includes the equipment described in the following sections.

CP 3100 CONTROL UNIT

The CP 3100 control unit contains the microprocessor that handles the entire operation of the system. The control unit has the following
