Guitarists like Jimmy Page, Joni Mitchell, Michael Hedges and John Martyn have
used open tunings to produce unique chord voicings and to extend their guitar
tunings beyond the standard E A D G B E. The You Rock Guitar® lets you quickly
change between open tunings by changing presets. Each preset stores a tuning
value along with its guitar and synth values.
To select a tuning for the current preset:
1. Press and hold the OPEN button. the LED display shows the current preset's
tuning number for 3 seconds
2. Scroll through the tunings with the Up and Down arrow but-
tons. Values 1-50 correspond to open tunings. Values 51-60
correspond to "capo" tunings. (See tuning summary below.)
3. Release the OPEN button. The You Rock Guitar® now plays
with the open tuning you selected.
4. To save the new tuning with the current preset, hold RECORD until it stops
blinking.
Note: standard 'EADGBE' tuning is assigned to both open tuning 0 and open
tuning 1.
