INITIAL USE / REPLACING
THE BATTERY
If the battery is low, the "Lo"
indicator will be shown on the
display. The battery must be
replaced.
Pull the extension (d) all the
way out.
Open the battery compartment
(e) by pressing the catch toward
the battery compartment and lifting
off the cover.
Place 4 type AA 1.5 -V
(mignon) batteries in the battery
compartment as indicated by the
markings, being careful to observe
the correct polarity. Close the
battery compartment.
Set the desired units (grams
or pounds) using the selector
switch (f).
Adjust the extension (d) to
match the width of the drawer.
Place the built-in scales in the
drawer.
WEIGHING
Switch on the scales by briely
pressing the pushbutton (c).
Caution: do not place anything to
be weighed on the scales during
the initialisation stage (display
"88888").
If you do not want the weight of the
weighing container to be included
in the displayed weight, place
the container on the weighing
surface (a) and again press the
pushbutton. The display will be
reset to '0'. Now you can measure
the weight of the material to be
weighed.
Measure the weight of the material
on the scales. If the display shows
"-----", the measuring range of
the scales has been exceeded. In
this case, divided the material to
be weighed into several portions
and weight them in turn.
Additive weighing (for example,
when mixing several ingredients):
after weighing each ingredient,
again press the pushbutton. The
display will be reset to '0'. Now you
can weight the next ingredient.
NOTE:
If the weighing container is
removed after additive weighing,
the scales will display a negative
weight. You can use this to verify
the total weight of all of the
ingredients.
To switch off the scales, press the
pushbutton switch. The display will
be reset to '0'. If the pushbutton
is pressed again, the scales will
be switched off. If the scales
remain unused for longer than
2–3 minutes, they will switch off
automatically.
