Active barrier

1 System description

The active barrier galvanically separates 4...20 mA signal
circuits. The unit has an active current input to which a
transmitter can be connected. A additional power supply is
therefore not required. A current signal is available at the output
(passive output) for connection to further instrumentation. Bi-
®
directional HART -communication with SMART-transmitters is
possible using the built-in communication sockets (with
resistance R = 250 Ω).

2 Mechanical installation

Installation hints:
- The installation area must be vibration free.
- The permissible operating ambient temperature
is -20...+50 °C.
- Protect the unit from heat sources.
