Preparing for a trip
Caution
All bolt connections and fasteners on the cycle rack and
the bicycles must be checked for secureness each time it and
the bicycles are mounted, prior to each journey and during long
journeys and then retightened if necessary.
If this is not done, the cycle rack may become loose, together
with the bicycles mounted on it, thereby injuring other persons
and/or causing an accident.
This check is to be repeated at regular intervals regardless of
the road surface.
Caution
Check the lighting device is in perfect working order prior to
each journey, otherwise accidents may be caused.
Note
Ensure the registration plate and the bicycle rack's light system
are not concealed.
If the cycle rack is not fully loaded, make sure that:
• any holders not required have been removed from the rack's
frame and stowed safely in the luggage compartment.
• all keys have been removed and have been stored away.
• the straps on all wheel rails are fastened.
Changing lamps
Caution
When changing lamps, the vehicle's ignition must be switched
off and the plug for the lights removed from the socket
for the towbar electrics. Failure to do so can cause a short-
circuit or damage property. In case of any ambiguities,
have a specialist dealer change the lamps for you.
Note
Changing of lamps is described and illustrated using the cycle
rack's left rear light. Proceed in the same manner for the right
rear light.

1. Push the locks (35) and pull the rear light (9) out of
the holder (36).

2. Remove the cover (37) in the direction of the arrow.
3. Remove the rear light (9) out of the holder (36) entirely.

4. Unscrew the screws (38) and remove the diffuser (39).

5. Push the defective light bulb gently into the bulb holder (40),
(41), (42) or (43).
6. Pull the light bulb (15) out of the bulb holder (41).
Turn the light bulb (14), (16) or (17) approx. 90° anti-clockwise
in the bulb holder (40), (42) or (43) and remove it.
7. Push the new light bulb gently into the bulb holder (40), (41),
(42) or (43).
