• Unscrew and remove the hexagon nut, then twist wist the gear box of the
microscope onto this threaded bolt.
• When the gear box is sitting horizontally, lock it in place with the hexagon nut.
• Replace the microscope head back on to the gear box and secure its
seating with the setscrew e.

Arm adjustments

The arm is equipped with friction joints, which in the middle and in the base
are additionally supported by interior springs. For adjustments of the arm the
wingnuts on the joints need not be released. These serve only the purpose
of establishing a one-time basic adjustment of the friction, respectively, to
occasionally readjust it.
