Switching the speaker ON/OFF
If there is a headset connected, press the button (fig. 2/c) to switch ON the speaker of the CT-
MultiCom, the LED flash up Green and you hear an audio signal. To switch the speaker OFF, press the
button once more, the LED flash up Red and you hear an audio signal.

Belt clip
The very robust belt clip of the CT-MultiCom is also suitable for fastening on heavy work clothing and
protective suits. The belt clip rotates 360°.
To rotate the belt clip, proceed as follows:
Open the knurled wheel (fig. 3/a) in counter clockwise direction
Lift the metal piece of the belt clip and open it up to the desired position
Snap the belt clip into place and close the knurled wheel (fig. 3/a) in clockwise direction

Emergency call button
Pressing the button (fig. 1/b orange) activates the emergency call function and the LED lights up Red.
Depending on how the emergency call function is configured, the key for triggering the emergency call
function has to be pressed for at least 3 seconds, or the emergency call is triggered by a brief pressing
of the button (see 4.3: "Configuring the emergency call button").

Optional transmit button/PTT
The CT-MultiCom can also be equipped with a second transmit button/PTT (fig. 1/b). This button has
equal function as the transmit button/PTT (fig.1/a).

4.1
Microphone amplification
The CT-MultiCom recognizes the connected headset and adjusts the microphone amplification
automatically to the radio. If required, the microphone amplification can be gradually increased or
decreased (16 steps for dynamic and 5 steps for Electret type microphones).
For setting the microphone amplification, proceed as follows:
Switch the radio OFF.
On radios, the accessory interface of which is alive even in switched-off condition (e.g. STP
8000), disconnect the plug of the CT-MultiCom from the radio or remove the storage battery
from the radio.
Connect a headset. For connecting a headset proceed as indicated under connection and use
of external headsets (not included in scope of supply).
Press the button (fig. 2/b) and while holding it down switch the radio ON. On radios, the
accessory interface of which is alive even in switched-off condition (e.g. STP 8000), reconnect
the plug of the CT-MultiCom or reinsert the storage battery and continue holding the button
down until the LED flash up 3 times and you hear the audio signals.
Let the button (fig. 2/b) go.
To increase microphone amplification press the button (fig. 2/b); each keystroke is
acknowledged by an audio signal and one Green LED flashing; reaching maximum volume is
followed by a double audio signal and two flash ups of the LED.
To reduce microphone amplification press the button (fig. 2/c); each keystroke is acknowledged
by one audio signal and one Red LED signal; reaching minimum volume is acknowledged by a
double audio signal and two flash ups of the LED.
Store the microphone amplification by switching the connected radio briefly OFF and ON again. On
radios, the accessory interface of which is alive even in switched-off condition (e.g. STP 8000), store
this setting by briefly pulling the CT-MultiCom plug off the radio or by disconnecting the storage battery
from the radio.
