Warnings:
Do not connect the tester to a live circuit as it may damage the unit.
Note
• When all LEDs are on they will decrease in brightness.
• Shield LED will light up after LEDs 1~19 light up in sequence
• If the Displayport cable has Pin 20 connected, the DP-PWR LED
will continuously light up. If Pin 20 is not connected, the LED will
not light up. The Displayport specification states that the cable
must not connect the power line, and the power outputs of two
devices should not be connected together via the cable.
• Always connect the Displayport cable between the Remote unit
and the Master unit. Connecting a cable to the Master unit only
will give no valid results.
Continuity scan testing function
Insert one Displayport connector of the cable to Master unit and
insert the other connector to the remote unit. Slide upper left switch
to "CONTINUITY". The Power LED will light up, and the Master and
Remote unit LEDs 1~19 and "Shield" will all light up.
Sweep scan testing function
Insert one Displayport connector of the cable to Master unit and
insert the other connector to the remote unit. Slide upper left switch
to "SWEEP". The Power LED will light up, and the Master and
Remote unit LEDs 1~19 and "Shield" will all light up in sequence.
LED indicate testing result
Straight: Master unit and Remote unit LEDs 1~19 and Shield LEDs
are all lighted up.
Open: Master unit and Remote unit both LEDs are off when scan to
not connected pins, others LEDs are lighted up.
Short: Master unit LED brighter than others and Remote unit LED
off when scan to shorted pins, Master unit and Remote unit other
