The gear mechanism should be lubricated after approx.
every 500,000 wire wrap connections and the individual
gear parts, O-rings and coupling checked for wear or defor-
mation and, if necessary, replaced.
When doing this, the tool head (not including the battery)
must be dismantled:
- unscrew the union nut (90990275) and the housing
screws. Loosen the snap connections on the battery insert
base.
- carefully lift off the half-section of the housing and remove
the pusher (90990536).
- carefully separate the index bush, coupling and gear
mechanism from one another.
- lightly lubricate the gear rim, gear wheels, gear wheel pins
and both O-rings with multi-purpose grease
(ESSO Beacon 2). Excessive lubrication can impair operation.
- during re-assembly, ensure that all gear mechanism and
coupling parts, plus the indexing mechanism, are aligned
axially to the shaft of the guide bush and the axis of the
motor.
4. Operating guidelines
The battery is equipped with a thermal switch which detects
the fact that a battery is charged and switches the battery
charger to compensation charging. The battery charger does
not automatically switch over to rapid charging function.
Rapid charging function can only be re-activated when the
battery has been taken out of the battery charger and re-
inserted or the battery charger has been switched to zero
voltage.
The thermal switch can also disengage when there is a high
wrapping rate and a high ambient temperature. The battery
cannot be recharged while the thermal switch is disenga-
ged.
Batteries which have been stored for long periods must be
recharged before use.
The indexing point at which the wrapping insert stops can be
made infinitely variable after loosening the union nut
(90990275) on the shaft of the guide bush (90990356).
Warning:
Batteries are hazardous waste and must be disposed of in
accordance with local regulations.

5. Accessories
The selection of accessories (wiring inserts) is dependent on
the wiring data:
type of wrapping, wire diameter, wrapping post dimensions
and modular dimension. The selection of special accessories
should be made from the Tooling Manual for Solder-Free
Wiring Technology.
