Click on Start – Settings – Control Panel.
ì
Double-click on the Network icon.

In the Network window, select from the Configuration tab the TCP/IP entry for your net-
work card or adapter. Make sure you choose the right one if there are several entries in the
selection list (e.g. "TCP/IP -> Siemens Gigaset PC Card 54" for a wireless connection).

Click on Properties.
ì
Click on the IP address tab and select the option Obtain IP address automatically.
ì
Click on OK twice to close the Network window.
ì
Restart the network (see below).
Please remember:
If you are using the Gigaset WLAN Repeater in Network adapter (infrastructure) or Network
adapter (ad-hoc) mode, you must assign fixed IP addresses. Further information about this will
be found in the operating instructions on the CD-ROM supplied.

Restarting the network

Restart your Gigaset WLAN Repeater by disconnecting the mains plug and plugging it in
again.
ì
Check that the Power LED on the front panel of the unit is on continuously.
ì
Restart your PC.
You have now configured and opened a link between your PC and the Gigaset WLAN Repeater.

Configuring the Gigaset WLAN Repeater

Before you can use the Gigaset WLAN Repeater in the way you want to, you must make some
further configuration settings depending on the mode.
For the initial configuration we suggest that you connect the Gigaset WLAN Repeater with an
Ethernet cable to the Ethernet port of the PC on which you wish to make the configuration.
Configuring is done with an Internet browser of your choice using the configuration program
built into the Gigaset WLAN Repeater.
Please remember:
If you want to use the Gigaset WLAN Repeater in Network adapter (infrastructure) or Network
adapter (ad-hoc) mode, please read the information on page 18 first.
Launching the configuration program

Switch on your PC.
ì
Open your Internet browser. Delete any address that may already appear on the address
line.
ì
On the address line, enter the address 192.168.2.254 and press the ENTER key.
