M INTEN NCE - SUB-COMPONENT NUMBERS
MAINTENANCE:
The mask's components, in particular the exhalation valve membrane and the valve
seat, must be checked before use. A correctly functioning exhalation valve and
membrane are just as important for the correct functioning of the mask as is the
replacement of the filters at the correct time.
Check/Replacement of the exhalation valve membrane:
Open the cover to the exhalation valve. Holding the edge of the membrane, pull it
carefully out. The valve seat must be clean and undamaged. If the membrane is
deformed, split, or otherwise damaged, it must be replaced with a new original
RSG-membrane (refer to maintenance intervals in table 3, page 8).
SUB-COMPONENT:
Sub-components which have a particular significance for safety are marked so that
they can be identified - refer to table 4, page 8.
