Troubleshooting

No picture
If you are experiencing problems with your Vivitron
700 monitor, this troubleshooting section may help
you to identify and solve any minor difficulties you
may encounter. For any display concerns, insure that
the monitor has warmed up for approximately 45 min-
utes before making a final judgment.
If neither the power indicator nor the power saving
indicators are lit, check first to see that the power cord
is properly connected to both the back of the monitor
and the wall outlet. Then, check to see that the monitor
power switch is on.
If the power saving indicator is lit:
Make sure that the computer is powered up.
Check to see if the monitor recovers from sleep
mode when you press any key on the keyboard or
move the mouse.
Make sure that the video signal cable is properly
connected to the back of the system.
Make sure that the video signal cable is not dam-
aged or cracked in any way.
Check the video connector system for any pins that
might be bent or pushed in.
Make sure that the video card is properly seated in
the slot of the system board.
Use the monitor's self-diagnosis function to check
for any other problems. To use the self-diagnosis,
power down the monitor, then press and hold the
power switch for eight seconds. During this time,
you should see the power indicator light begin to
