1 Description
The rescue hood RespiHood is only for
rescue purpose.
The rescue hood RespiHood shall only be
used in conjunction with a EN137:2007
certified SCBA with a second medium
pressure connector.
The medium pressure of the SCBA has to be
between 5.5 bar and 7.5 bar.
The rescue hood RespiHood fits on all head
sizes.
The rescue hood RespiHood is made of
a flame retardant and self-extinguishing
material. It is air supplied via a 1.5 meter
airline ending in a silencer inside the hood.
Located at the other end is a male coupling,
which for use is connected to the second-
man connection of a compressed-air
breathing apparatus.
The type RespiHood is equipped with a
"Euro" male inlet connector. (identical in
construction with e.g. Rectus type serie
95KS or Cejn type serie 344)
The rescue hood is delivered in a flame
retardant, spray water protected belt pouch,
which preferably is attached to the breathing-
apparatus hip belt.
The rescue hood is in conformity with the
Directive 89/686/EU.

2 Donning the Hood
Take the rescue hood out of the belt pouch.
Connect rescue hood male coupling to the
outlet connector of the second medium
pressure connector of the SCBA, see also
operating mode medium-pressure coupling.
Pull hood over the head of the person to be
rescued. Observe that the hood visor faces to
the persons front and that the air discharge is
located in the persons oral/nasal region. Pull
sealing cord by the cord-stopper closely
around neck and throat of person to attain a
tight fit.
Attention:
Leakage and safety scale depending on
right donning of the hood.
The use of the rescue hood reduce the
duration of use of the SCBA.
3 Doffing the hood
Release cord by its cord-stopper and pull
rescue hood off. Now disconnect the hoods
male coupling from the outlet connector of
the second medium pressure connector of
the SCBA.
4 Operating Mode Medium-
Pressure Coupling
4.1 RespiHood
Connect: Push male coupling into female

coupling until coupling sleeve leaps
forward.
Disconnect: Press male coupling into
l
female, simultaneously pull back coupling
sleeve. Male coupling then can be
unplugged.
