DANGER ! Once the threading process completed, to avoid any damage to the motor, wait for the motor and
threading head to stop completely before reversing the rotation direction.

6- Maintenance
Cable and connection:
The cable and plug must be in good condition at all times. Check them regularly.
Power switch:
Check that the machine's switch is released automatically by releasing pressure applied by your fingers. In case
of malfunction, call the Virax technical department.
Carbons:
Check carbon wear regularly. Carbons must be changed when they have lost 1/3 of their original length. To
change the carbons, contact the Virax technical department.
Threading heads:
Check the head to be used has no damaged combs, as this may have a severe impact on threading quality. The
combs should be void of chipping to achieve high quality threading and longer machine lifetime.
Gear box:
Every 500 hours operation, call the Virax technical department to change the grease.
Vice:
Check the condition of the vice jaw. Change it if the tube slides.
7- Troubleshooting
Insufficient power
- Check that the power cable is not too long and has a sufficient cross-section.
- Check that the rotation direction is correct.
- Check that the holding vice is fastened properly.
- Check that the threading heads are in good condition.
- Lubricate the threading heads thoroughly and permanently.
- Check the tube can be threaded.
Offset threading
- Check the position of the holding vice (axis parallel to the tube).
- Check the tube's quality and condition.
Insufficient threading length
- Check that the holding vice is in the right position.
- Check the lack of obstruction between the machine and the holding vice.
Low threading quality
- Check the combs are in good condition.
- Check that lubrication is ensured permanently and thoroughly.
- Check the tube's quality.
- Check the quality of the threading oil used (by Virax).
