Prevention of electric shock
• Always connect the heating element to a professionally installed socket (230 V ~ 50 Hz).
• Make sure that the mains supply system is protected by a residual current circuit-breaker
(maximum residual current 30 mA). If in doubt, ask a professional electrician.
• Make sure that the socket is immune to the ingress of water and moisture.
• Pull out the mains plug in the following situations:
− Each time before any skin contact with the water
− Each time before you change the water
− Before you carry out cleaning or maintenance work
− If the heating element, mains cable or mains plug display any damage
• Never open the housing.
• The supply cord cannot be replaced. If the cord is damaged the appliance should be
scrapped.
• This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with
reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they
have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way
and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning
and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.
Prevention of burns
• The heating element becomes hot during use. Do not touch it with any unprotected parts of
the body.

Design and operation

The heating element is an automatic heater for aquariums. The required water temperature can
be selected. The heating element will heat the water to the selected temperature and ensure
that the water is kept at this temperature constantly. The pilot LED comes on when the heating
element is heating. A special automatic shut-off function (Double Shut-Off) makes the heating
element particularly safe. It switches off the heating element when it is not completely under
water and there is a threat of overheating. The heating element is protected therefore against
damage.

Installing the heating element

The maximum immersion depth is 80 cm.
Choose a position for the heating element where there is a strong water flow in order to
optimise the distribution of the heated water.
 Select an installation position on the side of the aquarium wall where the heating element
will be fully immersed in the water.
 Push the heating element into the holder as illustrated (see the inside of the cover) until it
latches home.
 Arrange the heating element vertically at the point of installation.
 Press the heating element with the suction cups against the aquarium wall.
 Route the mains cable up and out of the aquarium.
