into one of the three threaded holes on
the front side of the protective ring (1.7),
according to the desired grip position. This
makes it possible to adapt the grip posi-
tion of the RW 1000 EQ to your individual
working position.
5 Electronic circuitry
The RW 1000 EQ has a full-wave
electronic circuitry, with the follow-
ing properties:
Smooth run-up
The electronically-controlled smooth run-up
ensures jolt-free starting of the machine.
The material to be stirred is not spun out of
the container – this is particularly important
with low-viscosity materials and when the
stirrer is inserted into the material.
Speed adjustment
The motor speed can be continuously adjust-
ed from 250 to 600 rpm. Using the electronic
speed control (1.2).
The following offers a guide to the selection
of the correct speed:
Position 1: 250 rpm
– for high-viscosity material
– for low-viscosity material in small quanti-
ties
– in the initial phase of the stirring process
– for cleaning the stirring rod in a water bath
Position 6: 600 rpm
– for low-viscosity material in large quanti-
ties
– for the main stirring process
Constant speed
The preselected motor speed is kept con-
stant electronically. This ensures a constant
speed, even under load.
Temperature protection
Extreme overload in continuous running will
cause the motor to overheat. An electron-
ic temperature monitoring device is fi tted
to provide protection against overheating
(burning-out of the motor). The electronic
safety device switches off the motor before a
critical motor temperature is reached. After
a cooling period of approx. 3–5 minutes, the
machine is once again ready for use at full
load. If the machine is kept running (idling),
the cooling period is reduced considerably.
Do not work with the RW 1000 EQ if
the electronic control is defective, since
this may lead to excessive speeds. A defect
in the electronic control is indicated by the
absence of a smooth run-up, a higher noise
level at idle or the fact that no speed control
is possible.

6 Fitting the stirring rod
To allow the stirring rod to be fi tted, the drive
spindle of the RW 1000 EQ stirrer is equipped
with a thread M 14 (1.6) and two key faces
for a 17 mm spanner (2.2). To allow easy
fi tting, the shafts of all Festool stirring rods
have a hexagonal section or two key faces for
a 19 mm spanner (2.3).
Two open-ended spanners, 17 and 19 mm,
are supplied with each RW 1000 EQ stirrer.
The 17 mm spanner is used to hold the drive
spindle (2.1), whilst the 19 mm spanner is
used to screw on the stirring rod (2.4).
The stirring rods may only be used up to
the max. speed of 1000 rpm.
7 Maintenance and service
Always disconnect the mains plug
from the socket before carrying out
any maintenance work on the machine.
All maintenance and repair work for
which it is necessary to open the motor
or gear box housing may only be carried
out by an authorized service workshop.
In order to ensure an adequate circulation
of air, the cooling-air outlets on the motor
must be kept free of obstructions and clean
at all times.
The RW 1000 EQ is fi tted with special carbon
brushes with automatic switch-off. When the
brushes reach their wear limit, the current
is interrupted automatically and the stirrer
comes to a standstill.
8 Accessories
Use only original Festool accessories and
Festool consumable material designed for this
machine because these system components
are designed specifi cally for the machine.
Using accessories and consumable material
from other suppliers will most likely affect the
quality of your working results and limit any
warranty claims. Machine wear or your own
personal workload may increase depending
on the application. Protect yourself and your
machine, and preserve your warranty claims
by always using original Festool accessories
and Festool consumable material!
Festool offers a suitable stirring rod for the
RW 1000 EQ stirrer for all applications.
The individual stirring rods are used as shown
in the table on page 48.
The order numbers of the accessories and
tools can be found in the Festool catalogue or
on the Internet under „www.festool.com".
9 Disposal
Do not throw the power tool in your household
waste! Dispose of the machine, accessories
and packaging at an environmentally-re-
sponsible recycling centre! Observe the valid
national regulations.
