Installation, Volvo Penta 7" Display
IMPORTANT! Read through the complete instruc
tions carefully and install the Volvo Penta 7" Dis-
play (color screen) in accordance with them. The
Volvo Penta 7" Display can only be connected to
EVC-C3 and future versions.
NOTE! When installing several 7" Displays a PFM must
also be installed. Applies only to 12 V systems. Refer to
the EVC installation manual.
NOTE! Installation materials (nuts, washers and bolts)
are not included.
NOTE! Autoconfiguration must be performed the first
time the system is switched on, or after an update. Refer
to the installation manual.
NOTE! Contact an authorized Volvo Penta dealer to acti-
vate and configure the unit after installation.
Location and installation
- Decide on where to install the display.
IMPORTANT! In twin installations with two displays
at one or more helm stations, the displays must be
positioned such that the helmsman immediately
understands which engine (port/starboard) each
display belongs to.
- Try to keep cable runs as short as possible, to reduce
the risk of voltage drop and interference.
- All cables must be installed at least 300 mm away from
other cables carrying radio frequencies or pulsed sig-
nals.
- The underlying material must be flat and sufficiently
strong to withstand the weight of the display and protect
it from heavy vibrations or shocks.
- Check that there is sufficient room behind the unit for
connectors, so that cables need not be run with sharp
bends. Also make sure that there is sufficient cable to
allow the unit to be removed for service.
- Check that there is sufficient ventilation in the installa-
tion space, especially if the display is installed flush. The
operating temperature around the back of the display
(case) must not exceed 60 °C.
- Install the display in a location that is protected from
prolonged, direct exposure to rain and water splashes.
- The Volvo Penta 7" Display supports 1-4 drivetrain
units.
- As far as possible, protect the display from the harmful
effects of sunlight by making a habit of always replacing
the protective cover when the unit is not in use. Long pe-
riods of direct sunlight may cause functional faults in the
screen due to excessive heat.

where the display will be installed. A full-size template is
