The underwater fl oodlights UWL 1220/Tec and UWL 1250/Tec are de-
signed for the use in fountains and garden ponds. They operate on the
safe 12 V low voltage.
Transformer
The supply of the underwater fl oodlight with 12 volts low voltage
has to be done with a safety-transformer according to VDE 0570.
This transformer also has to correspond to the conditions.
The transformer should be run only in a water-protected area!
The connection box should be at least 2 m away from the edge of
the garden pond. (see fi g.1)
Caution! The transformer heats up during use.
To ensure adequate cooling, the transformer should not be instal-
led in a poorly ventilated housing.
Supply connections
For the needed circuit lengths between the transformers and the under-
water fl oodlights as well as their amount, the required circuit cross-sec-
tion areas have to be calculated!
The supply connections have to be of the type H07RN-F. They have to
be suitable for the submersible use. The fi tted screwed cable glands ac-
commodate cables of 8 to 15 mm in diameter, 8 to 11 mm when using the
additional gasket fi tting (included). The supplied ceramic terminals are
approved for conductor cross sections of a maximum of 16 mm² and
2.5 mm² respectively.
Do not carry, hang or pull by the connection cord.
Long, hanging supply connections have to be saved separately to avoid a
loosening of the transformer or the fl oodlight!
Operation and Installation (see fi g.1)
For the installation and the using of the underwater fl oodlight, the actual
national safety rules have to be preserved.
Please consult a licensed electrician.
The light with 20 watts can be used underwater and above
water. When using the lights outside the water, a minimum distance
of 50 cm (20˝) to infl ammable objects must be maintained.
The light with 50 watts has been designed only for submersible use.
It must be covered by at least 2cm of water to guarantee adequate
cooling. (see fi g.2)
Attention!
The coloured discs can be used only submerged.
There is the danger that the coloured discs will melt.
Max. depth 1 m!

You can fasten the underwater fl oodlight
- with the pedestal (12) on walls, fl agstones, etc. (see fi g. 2)
- with the base plate Ø 153 and weighted down by rocks anywhere in your
pond, without mounting-screws. (see fi g. 3)

Changing the lamp (see fi g. 4)
Attention! As a replacement, one may use (nearly) all commercial cool-
beam refl ectable lamps type GU 5.3, max. 20 W / 50 W.
1. Pull out the mains plug and secure against reclosing.
2. Remove the complete fl oodlight from the water.
3. Hold tight the fl oodlight casing (6) and unscrew the fl oodlight ring (1)
anticlockwise.
4. Remove glass front (2) and gasket (5).
5. Remove the lamp (3) from the casing (6) and remove the ceramic
socket (4).
6. Mind the gasket (7) underneath the lamp (3)!
7. Before re-assembling the fl oodlight, please clean the glass (2) and the
sealing ring (5).
Do avoid using scouring liquids, scouring pads or any sharp
instruments.
8. Replace the lamp (3), put it again in the socket (4) and re-insert it into
the casing (6).
9. Mind the gasket (7) underneath the lamp (3)!
10. Place the glass (2) on the sealing ring (5) fi tted to the casing (6), put
back the fl oodlight ring (1) and screw it clockwise.
