Grease and Oil Pumps
NOTE!
3

Description

3.1
Intended use
Grease and oil pumps are intended for transferring low-viscosity fluids such as
motor oil, old waste oil, antifreeze, transmission oil, ATF oil, and other similar
products.
3.2

Main parts

See figure 1.
The pump consists of a drive section (1) and a pump section (2). The drive
section is air motor driven by compressed air.
The air motor consists of an air cylinder with piston and one reciprocal valve.
The valve directs the compressed air alternately to the top or bottom of the
piston, which produces a back and forth motion of the air motor piston rod.
The compressed-air driven pump is fully automatic. It starts automatically
when the media valve is opened, and when the media valve is closed it builds
up a back-pressure and stops.
The pressure ratio of the pump states the ratio of the incoming air pressure to
the media pressure, see Table 3-1' Pressure ratio'.

Installation

4.1
Delivery check
If there are any damaged or missing parts when the product is delivered, notify
the carrier and the local Nederman representative immediately.
Before assembly, make sure that all pipes and hoses are clean inside. Look
especially for foreign particles due to heating and bending of pipes.
4.2
Pipes and connections
Shear-ring connections are recommended for the pipe system.
Avoid loose suspension of pipes with hanging supports and loops. Because
of the pressure surges to which they may be subjected, the pipes should be
clamped with for example, STAUFF clamps.
