Electropneumatic valves, item 021144 and item 024150
(draw. page 30)
They have been designed to open and
close the piping connecting every dental
unit serviced by one aspiration system.
They work in presence of air, as when
they are installed on Mini-Separators
(Fig. 1), as well as in presence of aspi-
rated fluid, as with Turbo-Jet modular
and Separator Tanks (Fig. 2). A more
accurate maintenance is required in this
case.

Functioning

(draw. page 31)
With the vacuum function operating, the depression draws the membrane onto the
vacuum hose and thereby closes the air passage (part A fig. 3); by raising a terminal
from its housing, the solenoid valve is energized and opens a passage that causes a
depression on the other side of the membrane as well.
The two depressions are equal and thus the air flow opens the suction (part B fig. 3).
The membrane (Fig. 3 det. C) can work up to a max. head of 3500 mm H

Installation

(draw. page 30-33)
These valves can be installed inside the water unit, on the Mini-Separators (Fig. 1) or, in
absence of this one, on the aspiration piping (Fig. 2), at a min. height of 200 mm above
the draining pipe running on the floor or grooved under it (Fig. 6); it is recommended to
avoid any sharp bends (see dashed line), which make the aspirated fluid rebound.
The valve must be steadily fixed in upright position and fed at 24V.
Aspirated fluid usually passes through the tip support filter; failing this one, it is recom-
mended to use the filter installed on the electrovalve itself (Fig. 2 det. A).
General recommendations and biologic hazard
• Biological danger, danger of infections from epidemic diseases.
• General danger sign.
Before servicing any used equipment, carry out some washing operations with Puli-Jet
(Fig. page 10), or other disinfectant appropriate for this purpose. Disconnect electric
supply and padlock mains switch if provided.
Before servicing the equipment wear disposable gloves, goggles, mask.
Aspirated debris is infected and contaminated, moreover the appliances to be serv-
iced could be under pressure and the risk of contaminating splashes is clearly higher.
