FIRST USE / OPERATION
Please note: never transport the device with a full water tank.
Possible hazards:
water can easily come out from the water collector (6).
the water collector can fall down and get damaged due to the heavy weight from the water
(and water can leak on to the floor).
1.
Place the Stylies HELOS humidifier in the desired location. The surface must be flat, stable
and watertight.
2.
Remove the top part of the housing (3) and place to one side. Check whether the «Clean Cube»
(17) is in use. This effectively prevents bacteria from forming in the water.
Remove both filter cassettes (16) from the foil packaging and place them in the two brackets
in the water tank (6).
3.
Fill now the water collector ( 6 ) with fresh water (max. 4 litres).
Tip: When refilling, first empty the water tank and rinse well to ensure that there is no resi-
due left in the collector, such as limescale.
4.
If required, add 1-2 drops of scented oil to the fragrance box (18).
5.
Replace the upper housing (3) carefully. The swivel water inlet opening (19) must be situated
over the water level window (15).
Insert the small power plug for the power supply in the socket «12 V/ 0.5 A» on the back.
6.
Then plug power cable into the power socket. On the device «ON/OFF» is displayed now.
Caution : If the red « No Water » warning lights up, the humidifier cannot be switched on. Check
if the water tank is full.
7.
Switch on the device: by touching the «ON/OFF» key. The display will show «ON» briefly fol-
lowed by the current humidity, e.g. «41». All of the control panels will light up and the ventilator
will slowly operate. If the red «No Water» display is lit up, fill up with water first. Swich off the
device: touch again the «ON/OFF» key.
Swich off the device: touch again the «ON/OFF» key.
Set the desired humidifying capacity: by repeatedly touching the «SPEED LEVEL» key
8.
(1= low, 3 = high).
9.
The desired air humidity level can be selected by repeatedly touching the «HUMIDITY» key.
Settings are in 5% stages from 30 % to 65 % rel. air humidity. «Co» means continuous oper-
ation without automatic control. We recommend 40-60 % rel. air humidity for living areas.
As soon as the display shows the current relative air humidity again, the humidity setting is
saved. The humidifier starts automatically as soon as the humidity is lower than the setting,
and stops when it is higher. Note : If «Co» (continuous operation) is set, the humidifier WILL NOT
STOP automatically. The device will not switch on if the air humidity level has been set too low.
10. Activate the automatic shutdown time: by repeatedly touching the «TIMER» key. Adjust the
shutdown time in hours (01-12 hours, or «00» to quit timer).
11. «No water» warning: this red LED lights up if the water collector is empty or too low. In this
case turn the device off by touching the «ON/OFF» key . Open the swivel water inlet opening (19)
and pour in fresh water. Then close the opening and switch the device back on.
Note: To prevent damage, always turn off the power when the «No water» warning lights up.

CLEANING PROCEDURE

Switch off the device and unplug the power cable from the socket before all maintenance work
and after each use.
Never submerge the device in water (this can result in short-circuiting). To clean the device,
simply wipe it with a damp cloth and then dry it thoroughly.
Descale the humidifier as appropriate for the hardness of the water, but at least once a week:
First remove the upper housing (3) and clean it carefully with a lightly damp cloth. Remove
the antibacterial filter cassettes (16) and «Clean Cube» (17) and place them in a washbasin.
Descale the water collector (6) with a standard descaler and then rinse it thoroughly. Make
sure no water penetrates inside. So only fill with descaler/water mixture to a height of 2-3 cm.
Reassemble the device completely before use.
Replace the antibacterial filter cassettes (16) every 2-3 months as appropriate for the
hardness of the water.
Clean Cube
Before installing the water collector, insert the «Clean Cube» in the base in the position (17)
indicated (the «Clean Cube» is works fitted).
The «Clean Cube» with its patented technology prevents the growth of bacteria and germs in the
water collector. It can be used for a maximum of one season, and must be replaced at the start
of the next heating season (i.e. when the weather becomes cold). Despite using the «Clean Cube»,
you should replace the water on a daily basis.

USEFUL INFORMATION:

Information on how an evaporator works
How does the evaporator work? The specially treated filter cassettes absorb the water from
the water tank. A ventilator then transports the dry air through the soaked filter cassettes and
emits the humidified air back into the room. This humidification process is not visible to the eye.
One big advantage of an evaporator system is that excessive humidification is not possible. With
this system, saturated air will no longer absorb water and so the performance is automatically
regulated. Evaporator air humidifiers also require very little power and work extremely efficiently.
Hygrostat
The standard-tolerance of an integrated hygrostat is +/- 10%. That means the effective relative
humidity level can deviate accordingly.
Tips for water
Clean water must always be used to ensure that the air remains hygienic to breathe. The device,
and the water collector in particular, must always be hygienically clean.
Recommendation: always use the «Clean Cube», as this reduces the formation of germs in the
water (see page 17).
