5.5 Important safety information
When using electrical appliances, basic
safety precautions should always be taken.
The following applies in addition:
DANGER – Electric shock hazard:
Even when the appliance is switched off at
the main switch
in most electrical appliances, are still live.
As water is a very good conductor of
electricity, it is especially important to
comply with the following safety
instructions!
Do not use the appliance in the vicinity
of bathtubs, showers, or other
containers which contain water.
Do not immerse or drop the appliance in
water or other liquids.
If the appliance falls into water, do not
reach into the water. Immediately
disconnect the mains plug.
After using the appliance disconnect the
mains plug immediately.
Should you use the hair dryer in a
bathroom, it is important to unplug it
after use since the proximity of water
presents a hazard even if the hair dryer
was turned off.
For additional protection, we
recommend installing a residual current
device (FI/RCD) with a nominal tripping
current of no more than 30 mA in the
bathroom electric circuit. Please consult
