Adjusting the Height of the Trimmer Head
The trimmer head can be adjusted vertically to three differ-
ent positions. Higher positions are useful when trimming tall
grass or in conditions where frequent objects (rocks, small
limbs) are on the ground. Lower positons will provide a
more finished appearance
WARNING
The engine must be off and the trimmer head not moving
prior to adjustment.
To adjust the Trimmer Head height:
• Depress the two index buttons on each side of the
trimmer head.
• Raise or lower the trimmer head. It may be necessary to
remove wrapped grass or vines from the vertical index
tube prior to adjustment. If the head will not disengage,
slightly rotate the head while depressing the index
buttons.
• When repositioned to the desired height, release the
index buttons and assure the trimmer head is locked into
the new position.
F
Pivoting the Trimmer Head
The trimmer head can be pivoted horizontally to a left,
centered or right position. Offsetting the trimmer head allow
easier trimming under fences and around post or trees.
The trimmer head can be pivoted even when the engine is
running. It is not necessary to stop the engine.
WARNING
Assure no person, animal or objects are close to the trim-
mer head prior to pivoting the head.
To pivot the trimmer head:
• With the operator's left hand firmly on the handle, grip the
pivot lever using the operator's right hand.
• Move the lever to the left to disengage the locking
pin and rotate the lever up or down to the desired
position.
• Release the pivot lever which allows the locking pin
to re-engage.
