• Slotted screwdriver, size 7 x 1.2
• Slotted screwdriver, size 5.5 x 1.0

Removal of the old EAA en-
ergy box
Before the conversion, please do the fol-
lowing:
Disconnect all sanders, other tools and
compressed air connections from the
EAA energy box. Ensure that the EAA
energy box is completely voltage-free,
and verify this using a phase tester.
Disconnect all mains and compressed
air lines from the local network.
Step 1 (Figure 1)
Open the switch box by removing the four
screws [1-1].
Step 2 (Figure 2)
Loosen the clamps on the
electrical outlets

Close the switch box using the four screws
[1-1].
Step 3 (Figure 3)
On the compressed air side of the EAA en-
ergy box, remove the four
and then remove the front plate.
Step 4 (Figure 4)
Unplug the control cable at the Y-shaped
junction

and close the EAA energy
box on the compressed air side by using
the four screws [3-1].

Refitting the ASA boom arm
to the new EAA energy box
The energy box may only be used in com-
bination with a Festool boom arm ASA
with joint (see Fig. 7). If you have an old-
er boom arm with a previous model of
joint, use conversion kit 489704.
Note: Depending upon the type of ASA
boom arm (CT or TURBO), the lines on the
wall side must be laid out differently. The
line layout for the ASA CT boom arm is de-
scribed here. The lines for the ASA TURBO
boom arm are laid out upwards.
Step 1 (Figure 8)
Unscrew the four screws on the ASA boom
arm elbow piece [8-1].
Step 2 (Figure 9)
Remove the spacer on the wall side of the
ASA boom arm [9-1].
Step 3 (Figure 10)
Adjust the ASA boom arm at the articula-
tion.
Step 4
On the wall side, fasten cords on the old
compressed air line and the old control
line and pull the lines from the wall for-
ward through the boom arm.
Note: The cords will be used later for pulling
the lines for the new EAA energy box though
the ASA boom arm. The minimum length for
the cords should be 10 m.
Step 5
On the wall side, attach a cord to the old
mains cables and pull the lines from the
wall forward through the boom arm. Be-
fore proceeding, disconnect the mains
plugs.
