Maintenance/Cleaning

Fan
Cleaning and maintenance must be performed exclusively by professionally qualified personnel and in
accordance with the Directive ATEX 2014/34/UE, and in compliance with the standard EN 60079-17.
Make periodic inspections at intervals suited to the site/environment, ATEX requirements, and intended use of
the fan. The inspections serve to determine whether the appliance requires cleaning and/or maintenance. In any
event the intervals of these inspections must not exceed 12 months. In particular, check:
- the level of vibrations ; (see "Special conditions of use", point B)
- the level of noise emissions.
Motor
Every 3000 hours of service, check and top up when necessary the oil/grease on the radial seals (V-rings); also
make periodic checks of the following according to the environment and type of application:
- cleanliness of the motor (oil. dust, dirt and processing residue);
- that cooling air transit is not obstructed;
- that there are no deposits of dust on the cooling fan;
- correct fixture and attachment of the electrical connections.
Cleaning must be performed with the appliance switched off and disconnected from the mains, as described in
figures 11,12. Never use aggressive chemical products and/or other corrosive agents.
Repairs
Repairs must be made in accordance with standard EN 60079-19. Repairs, revisions, renewals and
modifications of appliances are only admitted if performed by personnel of Vortice Elettrosociali S.p.A. and/or
qualified personnel under the supervision and authorization of Vortice, or by Certified Service Centres approved
for work as envisaged by the directive ATEX 2014/34/UE. All repair work must be performed using original spare
parts and maintaining the original specifications of the appliances.
At the end of each repair operation an indelible label must be affixed to the appliance containing the following
information/symbols:

Repairs
Company name; certification/authorization no.; number and date of repair.
CAUTION
Failure to observe the above specifications will lead to loss of the certified technical specifications of
the appliance.
