1. Instructions for a Pre-Installation
The location of each element of the Surrounding Sound System must be
defined before its installation.
It is very important to follow the next steps and rules before break and
open the walls to make the channels and practice the holes for install the
pipes and the wall boxes:
1. Choose the type of installation (centralized or not centralized) and the
number of Sound Control Units (modules) to be installed for calculate
and choose the type of Power Supply and its location:
a) Modular Power Supply 15V 5W (Ref. 21380): For supply energy
to just one Sound Control Units (stereo or mono). Install it in a
standard flush-mounting wall-box (deeper box preferred);
b) Power Supply 15V
75053): For supply energy to one Modular Central Unit and up to 4
Stereo Sound Control Units or 8 Mono Sound Control Units. Install
it inside of hollow ceilings or inside of a Flush Mounting Deep
Ceiling Box for Loudspeaker (Ref. 75984); beside the speaker;
c) Power Supply 15V
supply energy to Modular Central Unit and up to 10 Stereo Sound
Control Units or 20 Mono Sound Control Units. Mount it in a DIN
Rail inside of one of the electrical panels of the local installation;
d) In case of using an Amplifier in the sound installation, its current
consumption is equivalent to the current consumption of two Sound
Control Units together.
2. If the system is a centralized one (installation with a Modular Sound
Central Unit), then the Modular Sound Central Unit must be installed near
the programs or sources of sound to be distributed (examples: Hi-Fi, TV).
3. All the pipe installation must be independent from other pipe's
installation in order to avoid possible interferences.
4. The Sound Control Units, the Modular Central Units and the
Loudspeakers of 2" will be mounted in standard wall-boxes
(preferred deep type). The rest of the equipments will be mounted in
their specific boxes described as follows.
5. The Loudspeaker of 5'' should be mounted in hollow ceilings in a
hole with a diameter of between 150 and 160mm and without
the use of any box, by simply using the mounting springs supplied
with them.
6. The Loudspeaker of 6,5'' should be mounted in hollow ceilings with
a square hole of 185x185mm and without the use of any box.
