Operation
Before use
Before commissioning the machine for
the first time establish the mains water
hardness range in your area. The Miele
service engineer will then install the
correct hardness range disk (Meter
Disk).
The service engineer will then connect
the Aqua-Soft-System to the water sup-
ply, fill the resin cartridges with water
and start the system. The built-in salt
valve limits the amount of water going
into and out of the unit by means of a
float switch to ensure there is sufficient
salt available for reactivation.
Only use reactivation salt that is suit-
able for water softeners.
It is important to use a good quality re-
activation salt. Only use salt tablets or
coarse grained reactivation salt (8-15
mm grain).
Never use rock salt as it contains parti-
cles which do not dissolve in water.
These particles can cause a blockage
in the Aqua-Soft-System.

Filling the salt container
^ Remove the lid.
^ Fill the salt container with reactivation
salt or salt tablets via the salt filler in-
let.
Capacity: 20 kg
First fill: 20 kg
^ Replace the lid.
The Aqua-Soft-System is now ready for
operation and delivers softened water.
^ To keep evaporation to a minimum
ensure that the lid is always replaced
securely in position.
