4.2 - Definitive Assembly
Screw the 1K182 or 1K183 pyramid adapter fully into the M36x1.5 thread of the body.
Adjust orientation by unscrewing no more than a quarter of a turn.
Caution : Never unscrew the anchor more than a quarter of a turn and check that at least 7 threads are
engaged.
Otherwise, the component may be weakened.
The distal screw connection between the lock and the adapter can be done with the M5 screw for fittings at
the orthopedic workshop only. On delivery to the customer, the distal screw must always be secured with
Loctite® XC 047.
Screw the locking mechanism with an appropriate wrench.
Tightening torque : 10 Nm
4.3 - Use
The liner and the lock are connected by the locking pin (5) that engages in the lock and holds the liner.
Advise your patient that a correct alignment of the locking pin (5) with the locking mechanism (4) is very
important. The locking pin (5) must not be forced into the locking mechanism (4). If the locking pin (5) is not
correctly aligned with the locking mechanism (4), it may get stuck in the locking mechanism (4) and it will be
difficult to release it. The operation of the locking mechanism (4) must be checked at regular intervals that do
not exceed one year.
Placing the Liner
1.
Check that the locking pin (5) and the liner are not damaged.
2.
Tips: Align the locking pin (5) with the longitudinal axis of the stump to prevent damage. Roll the
liner and place it on the distal end of the stump.
3.
Unroll the liner on the stump, with no crease, no displacement of soft tissues and no air pocket.
4.
Check the adjustment and direction of the liner.
Placing the socket
1.
Put the socket on the liner until the locking pin (5) slides into the opening of the lock.
2.
Insert the locking pin (5) completely into the lock.
3.
Before using the prosthesis, check that the locking pin (5) has reached its stop position in the lock.
Taking off the socket
Press the release button (7) of the notched device and remove the stump and the liner from the socket.
Maintenance
5 -
CAUTION : if the maintenance instructions are not respected, there is a risk of injury due to the modification or
the loss of functions and to the damage of the product.
Please respect the following maintenance advice :
- After the first 30 days of use, visually inspect the components of the prosthesis and check their functions.
- The wear of the complete prosthesis should be checked during normal consultations.
- A safety check should be performed each year.
CAUTION : Check that nothing comes into the mechanism (dust, threads of a cup ...)
