a. Set-up and Single Channel Operation
1. Connect the 18Vdc adapter and the cameras to the monitor and plug the adapter into the mains.
2. Switch on the monitor (fig.1 #16) ; the power LED (fig.1 #6) lights up and the monitor is in standby.
3. Press any of the C-keys (C1~C4) on the monitor or the remote control to activate the monitor and show the
desired camera image (e.g. press C2 to see channel 2). The LED above the channel button will be red.
Adjust and correct the image by means of the 50/60Hz switch and the V-Hold, brightness and contrast controls.
4. If you select a channel that has no video input, the LED above the channel button will become green and will stay
lit as long as there's no input signal on that channel ('alarm'), even when other channels are being selected.
b. Automatic Channel Switching Operation
1. Press the AUTO key (fig.1 #12) to select the automatic switching mode ; the LED above the AUTO key will be
red.
The unit will show the channels one by one ; the standard switching time is 2 seconds.
2. If a channel has no video input, the LED above the channel button will become green and will stay lit as long as
there's no input signal on that channel ; the AUTO mode will skip to the channel immediately.
3. To change the switching time before or during AUTO mode, press the TIME key (fig.1 #13) until the LED
corresponding to the desired value is blinking. The LED will blink 5 times before the new setting becomes valid.
On the remote control: press the desired duration button ; the corresponding LED will blink 5 times and if you
press no other time setting button, the entered value will become valid.
4. To switch the AUTO mode off, press the AUTO button again.
c. TALK Function
Thanks to the microphones built into the cameras, the operator can have audio with the images. The volume is
controlled by the volume slide control at the front of the monitor (fig.1 #14). The monitor also features a built-in
microphone (under the keypad). If an audio system is connected (not included) to the audio output at the back of the
monitor (fig.2 #11), this allows the operator to converse with people near the cameras. Press the TALK key (fig.1 #5)
to activate the talk function ; press the TALK key again to deactivate it. In order to effectively use the talk mode, the
operator is advised to use headphones in order to avoid feedback between the microphone and the loudspeaker.
d. Audio/Video Output
You can connect the monitor to a TV for large screen display or to a VCR for surveillance recording. Connect the
audio/video outputs of the monitor (fig.2 #5 & 11) to a TV or VCR. Consult your TV or VCR's manual to make the
correct connections at the receiving end.
7. Spare Components
To expand your CAMSET9, you can order spare cameras (order code CAM17) and spare 20m extension cables
(order code CAMSET/SPC5).
