PE60 TEMPLATE FOR ELLIPSES AND
CIRCLES
(Diagrams on page 14)
1. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR OPERATING THE
PE-60 TEMPLATE
Before using the template, read this
INSTRUCTION MANUAL and the GENERAL
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS carefully. Make
sure you have understood them before
operating the machine for the first time.
Keep the instruction manual for any
future queries.
Use safety glasses when working with the router mounted
on the template for ellipses and circles.
Always use the correct bits. Do not use bits that are faulty,
or in poor condition, with the template. We recommend
that you use only original VIRUTEX bits and spare parts.
2. SPECIFICATIONS
ELLIPSE: (Fig. 1) Maximum length of larger axis =
3200 mm.
Minimum length of larger axis = 700 mm.
Maximum length of smaller axis = 2800 mm.
Minimum length of smaller axis:
With router FR192N = 510 mm.
With router FR292R = 520 mm.
With routers FR160P, FR66P, FR277R or FR278R =
600 mm.
Relation between axes: Length of smaller axis = 2 x R
Length of larger axis = 2 x (R+A)
Difference between axes = 2 x A
A can be adjusted between 50 and 200 mm.
CIRCLE: (Fig. 2) Maximum circle diameter = 3200 mm.
Minimum circle diameter = 600 mm.
3. GENERAL DESCRIPTION
PE-60 is an accessory that has been specially designed
for use with VIRUTEX routers. It enables the user to cut
or route ellipses and circles.
4. STANDARD EQUIPMENT
The box contains the following items:
One template support.
Two sets of suction cups for fixing the template in place.
Two sets of mobile shoes.
One compass bar.
Two supplementary compass bars.
4
Two x 8 mm diameter rods for coupling with VIRUTEX
surface routers.
One arm for fixing bars in place.
5 and 6 mm Allen keys.
The screws and washers needed for assembly.
Operating instructions and miscellaneous documentation
5. OPTIONAL ACCESSORIES
6045708 Set of 2 coupling bars with a diameter of 10 mm.
6045709 Set of 2 coupling bars with a diameter of 12 mm.
6045714 Set of 2 coupling bars for FR292R router.
6. ASSEMBLY
ASSEMBLING THE TEMPLATE
Place the mobile shoes (D Fig. 3) in the guides on the
base (A Fig. 3).
Assemble the necessary compass bars (F and G Fig. 4),
screwing one into the other. The number of bars to be
used (one, two or three) will be determined by the trim
diameter required.
Fix the arm (B Fig. 4) to the compass bar (F+G) using a
size 8 Allen key and the washers (H, I and J Fig. 4), with
the aid of the service key.
Place the compass bar (F+G) into the holes in the two
shoes (D Fig. 3 and 5) and set the knobs (C Fig. 3) at the
distance (A Fig. 1) required.
Attach the two coupling bars (E Fig. 4) to the arm (B
Fig. 4), using the screws and washers (K and L Fig. 4)
INSTALLING THE ROUTER
FR160P/FR66P (Fig. 5)
Adjust the distance between the coupling bars (E Fig.
4), in order to be able to place them in the base of the
router (Fig. 5).
Place the router at the required distance from the centre
of rotation and fix in place using the knobs (R Fig. 5).
Check to make sure that the base of the router is flush
with the work surface, and if not, correct the height
using the screw (H Fig. 4) on the compass bar.
FR192N (Fig. 12)
Adjust the distance between the coupling bars (E Fig.
12), in order to be able to place them in the base of
the router.
Place the router at the required distance from the centre
of rotation and fix in place using the knobs (R Fig. 12).
Check to make sure that the base of the router is flush
with the work surface, and if not, correct the height
using the screw (H Fig. 12) on the compass bar.
FR292R (Fig. 13)
To attach this router, you will need to get the set of 2
FR292R router coupling bars (6045714), which are an
optional accessory.
Attach the coupling bars to the arm (B Fig. 13) and
adjust the distance between them, in order to be able
to place them in the router base.
Place the router at the required distance from the centre
