STARTING UP
Fill the appliance
• Open the hot water tap on the distribution,
• Open the cold water tap located on the safety unit, ensuring that
the unit's drain valve is in the closed position,
• Once the water is flowing to the hot water valves and there is no
noise in the pipes, turn off the valves: your appliance is full.
WARNING The unit must never be switched on when it is empty, as
this risks damaging its electrical components (if applicable).
Checking correct operation

bolts,
• Check that the hydraulic components are operating correctly by
placing the safety unit from the drainage position to the
off position and vice-versa in order to remove any waste.
• After a few days of operation, check the sealing
of all the gaskets.
CARE AND MAINTENANCE
THE CURRENT MUST BE CUT BEFORE ANY OPERATION IS CARRIED
OUT ON THE APPLIANCE.
All operations must be carried out by a qualified technician.
Every year (twice a year if the water is treated by a water softener), the
unit must be drained so that:
• the wear on the magnesium anode can be checked: if the diameter
is less than 10 mm or its volume is less than 50% of the original
volume, replace it.
• deposits inside the tank can be removed.
DRAINING
• Shut off the cold water inlet.
• Open the drain valve on the safety unit
• Open the hot water valve to let air in.
CLEANING
In cases of very hard water, it is advisable to remove limescale at least
twice a year.
To carry out this operation, the water heater must first be emptied (the
drain pipe placed at the tank's lowest point allows complete draining
and the lateral flange to be removed to allow interior access). Carry
out the task using a suction device and a plastic or wooden brush (to
remove the most resistant sediment). Clean it again and rinse it with
a spray of water.
While cleaning, be careful not to damage the enamel layer that
protects the inside of the reservoir.
Replace the lateral flange, install a new seal and fill the reservoir, ma-
king sure there are no leaks.

ACCESSORIES
Additional resistor kit
CD1 and CD2 solar tanks can be fitted with a kit comprising a shielded
electrical resistor + 1.5, 2.5 or 6 kW thermostat, depending on the
capacity. The resistor is fitted to a 1"1/2 connection above the lower
exchanger.
Only electrical resistor kits recommended by the manufacturer may
be fitted to this product.
These electrical resistor kits must be installed in accordance with the
instructions given in the manual supplied with the kits.
Electrical resistor kits
CDZ storage tanks and CD1 solar tanks can be fitted with a kit com-
the
drain
prising a shielded electrical resistor + 9 or 15 kW thermostat, depen-
ding on the capacity. The resistor is fitted in place of the tank's lateral
flange.
Only electrical resistor kits recommended by the manufacturer may
be fitted to this product.
